The Former Assistant Police Commissioner and Lawyer from the Afamasaga Law Firm, Afioga Afamasaga Michael Soonalole was sworn-in on, 20 February 2023 as the first Deputy President of the Land and Titles Court. This special ceremony was conducted in one of the Land and Titles Court rooms which was filled with the presence of members of the Judiciary, Cabinet, families and friends. Afioga Afamasaga is now an additional member of the Land and Titles Court bench that consists of, the President, Deputy President, Assistant Presidents and Samoan Judges. The Deputy President, as per President of the Land and Tiles Court confirmation, will preside alongside the President presiding over matters of the Land and Titles Court of Appeal and Review, as commencement of the Land and Titles Act 2020.
