Objective
Provide assistance to the Law and Justice Sector Steering Committee in the coordination of sector programmes and activities that will deliver on the goals of the Sector. It is also responsible for the Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation of Sector Projects.
The Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration is currently leading the Law and Justice Sector. The Secretariat/Coordination Unit is currently under MJCA Structure.
The Law and Justice Sector Steering Committee (LJSSC) is the Sector’s main advisory body and is currently chaired by the Chief Executive Officer of MJCA. The Law and Justice Sector Steering Committee consists of heads of Government Agencies together with representatives from the organizations and the community.
Core Functions
- Collate and analyse data to measure progress (M&E)
- Monitor and report on sector financial expenditure
- Manage any DP funding arrangements
- Facilitate communication and liaison with all sector stakeholders
- Provide secretarial functions to L JSSC and Technical working group
- Support any reference or taskforce groups
- Coordinate discussions and debates on sector polices and emerging issues
