Awareness Programmes - Censor Section

One of the most important annual plan activities of the Censor Section for Financial Year 17/18 is the conduct of awareness programmes to strengthen their enforcement and monitoring role under the Films Control Act 1978. To date, the Censor Section has conducted awareness programmes on radio stations 2AP and Talofa FM, plus throughout different colleges of Samoa, targeting college students between the ages of fourteen to nineteen. Awareness programmes have already been conducted for: Wesley College, Maluafou College, Nuuausala College, Paul VI College and Channel College. Other scheduled awareness programmes will be for St. Mary’s College, Don Bosco, hopefully Samoa College and others.

New Associate Minister for the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration - Afioga Sooalo Mene

Since last week, the switch of Associate Ministers between the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration and Samoa Prisons Corrections Services (SPCS) has been official. Afioga Sooalo Mene who was the former Associate Minister for SPCS is the newly appointed Associate Minister of MJCA; replacing Afioga Lenatai Victor Tamapua, the former Associate Minister for MJCA. This switch was by way of a Cabinet Directive. 

We look forward to working closely with our new Associate Minister, Afioga Sooalo to ensure the administration of justice is effectively delivered and accessed by all. At the same time, we wish to thank Afioga Lenata’i for his endless contribution, gracefulness and humility shown throughout our working relationship and wish him the very best in all he endeavours.
